Guyana’s senior men’s rugby team, the “Green Machine”, will look to make a strong statement on home soil when they face Bermuda on Saturday from 15:00h at the National Park Rugby Field in Georgetown.
The fixture marks the culmination of several weeks of local preparation, during which the Guyana Rugby Football Union shortlisted a 30-man provisional squad following training sessions and an intra-squad trial match. That group is expected to be trimmed to a final 22 ahead of the weekend encounter.

Saturday’s clash forms part of a broader international engagement for Guyana, with matches against Bermuda and Barbados set to provide a key test of the team’s depth and readiness.
Playing at home is expected to be a significant advantage for the Green Machine, who will rely on familiar conditions and local support at the National Park venue. The team has been steadily rebuilding its structure, placing emphasis on fitness, discipline, and cohesion during the recent training phase.
The encounter against Bermuda is anticipated to be competitive, with both teams using the opportunity to test combinations and execution under match conditions. For Guyana, the focus will be on translating their preparation into performance, particularly in set-pieces and defensive organisation.
