A passenger in a route 42 minibus was on Sunday arrested following the discovery of pistol and several matching rounds of ammunition on his person.
According to reports, at about 14:10h, Police acting on information intercepted the minibus along the Providence Public Road, East Bank Demerara, and conducted a search.
During the search, one occupant was found with a .32 pistol along with eight matching rounds of ammunition in his possession. The illegal gun and ammo were found tucked in his pants waist.
He was taken into Police custody and is expected to be charged shortly.
