Transport Sports Club crush Diplomats by 141 runs
Transport Sports Club (TSC) delivered a commanding performance after Diplomats won the toss and elected to bowl first. The decision backfired spectacularly as TSC unleashed a batting onslaught, piling up a massive 278 for one in their allotted 20 overs.
Leading the charge was Jeremiah Hohenkirk, who produced a breathtaking unbeaten 117 from just 51 balls at a staggering strike rate of 229. His innings was decorated with nine fours and 11 towering sixes. He found a formidable partner in West Indies Under-19 batsman Shamar Apple, who smashed an unbeaten 107 from 46 deliveries, striking eight fours and 10 sixes. The pair’s relentless assault left the Diplomats’ bowlers with no answers.
Facing a daunting target, the Diplomats never looked settled in their chase and were restricted to 137 for 8 in their 20 overs. Tyrell Peters provided brief resistance with a rapid 47 from 17 balls, while Germain Douglas added 36 from 42 deliveries. Reyad Latif and John Persaud led TSC’s bowling effort with two wickets each, sealing a crushing 141-run victory.
