Kaneville man allegedly chopped to death during argument

The police are on the hunt for two men following the discovery of their brother’s body in a clump of bushes in Kaneville, East Bank Demerara, on Saturday.
The dead man has been identified as 50-year-old Mark Burquette of Third Street, Kaneville, EBD.
It was reported that the man was found with several chops to his fingers and head, and abrasions to his side and other parts of his body. Burquette was known for doing odd jobs in the community.
Nevertheless, based on reports received, the man’s brother was the last person to see him alive. It is alleged that the now dead man and two of his brothers had a confrontation just before he was found dead.
Moreover, when Police visited the brother’s home, all of their belongings were packed up and removed from the premises. Police are currently looking for two suspects.
Meanwhile, Superintendent Kurleigh Simon when contacted told Guyana Times that up to late Sunday evening, the two men were still on the run.
As such, he is asking anyone with information in connection with the death of Burquette to contact the Diamond Police Station on telephone number 216-0251/4.
