Second division action in the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) Second Division 40 overs competition continued, with wins for #48 Challengers, Kennard’s Memorial and Cut & Load.
In the Upper Corentyne Area, # 48 Challengers got the upper hand of # 73 Young Warriors when they beat them by 91 runs in the feature match. Batting first, # 48 Challengers scored 227 with batsmen M. Lalu 44, R. Ramnarine 41, D, Etwaroo 22 and M. Bhola 21, doing the bulk of the scoring. 
Bowling for # 73 Young Warriors was led by Lakeram Latchman 3-29, Azad Mohammed 4-29 and Odraj Singh 3-34. # 73 Young Warriors only managed 136 runs with Lakeram Latchman top scoring with 24, after B. Baldeo snared 4-19 in 5.3 overs with support from J. Baijnauth who claimed 4-20.
Over at the crowded # 72 Cut & Load Ground, hosts Cut & Load emerged victorious over # 70 CC in a closely contested match. Batting first, # 70 CC scored 116 runs thanks to knocks from; R. Yacoob 45, N. Yacoob 27 and A. Persaud 12. M Singh was the pick of the bowlers for Cut & Load with 5-23. # 72 Cut & Load then cruised to a 4 wicket win when they reached their target of 117 in 18 overs after V. Persaud led the way with an even 50 while R Persaud contributed with 21.
At the Bush Lot Ground, Kennard’s Memorial Cricket Club defeated the newly formed Hard Knockz Team by 6 wickets in their first game of the competition. The rising Hard Knocks team batted first but just managed 81 runs 19.1 overs with T. Mendonza and L. Mendonza being the only 2 batsmen to reach double figures with 15 and 12 runs respectively. M. Rabindranauth with 3-15 and two wickets each form Bassoo and G. Mangroio were the stars with the ball. Replying to the target of 81, Kennards Memorial CC reached their target in 10 overs compliments of R, Bassoo 28, K. Permaloo 17 and S. Seelall 12.
The Competition enters the sixth week this weekend.
