Labourer arraigned for murder of teenage drinking buddy

A labourer was on Thursday arraigned for the murder of his drinking buddy which occurred on Sunday evening at a bar in Supenaam, Essequibo Coast.
Richard Harrichand, of Ogle, East Coast Demerara (ECD) and of Supenaam, was not required to plead to the indictable charge which stated that on Sunday, June 2, he murdered Clive Osbourne of Good Hope, Essequibo Coast.

He appeared at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court, and was remanded to prison by the presiding Magistrate until July 4, 2019.
On the day in question, it was reported that Osbourne was stabbed several times to his head, chest, and abdomen.
Police investigations revealed that Osbourne and the suspect, 17, were imbibing alcohol when a heated argument erupted and quickly escalated into an altercation. It was at this time that the suspect whipped out a knife and dealt Osbourne several blows to his body.
The injured man reportedly attempted to run out of the bar, but collapsed on the roadway. He was picked up in an unconscious state and rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital by a cousin, but by the time he arrived at the medical facility, he was already dead.
The suspect was arrested and later charged for the heinous crime.
