Leguan labourer charged with damage of property, simple larceny

Leroy Jangroo of Good Intent, Leguan, Region Three (Essequibo Islands- West Demerara), was charged with damage to property and simple larceny. On Wednesday he made his first appearance before magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court where he pleaded guilty.
It was alleged that on October 29, he broke the right-side Canter glass window valued ,000 and removed a vehicle camera monitor valued ,000, property of Shafeek Khan, businessman of La Bagatelle, Leguan.
The court heard that the monitor was recovered; however, the defendant will have to compensate Khan ,000 for the damage to property, in addition to serving three months of community service at the Leguan Police Station.
For the simple larceny charge, Jangroo was fined ,000 or failure to pay, three months imprisonment.
