Golfers will have another chance to win a $1 million hole-in-one prize when the Umami $1,000,000 Cash Golf Challenge returns to the Westside Golf Course this weekend.

The challenge is among several activities expected to attract golfers, families, and newcomers to the Region Three facility, which is expanding its golf competitions, fun tournaments, and family entertainment.
Guyana Golf Association (GGA) President and Westside developer Aleem Hussain said the aim is to make golf accessible to more Guyanese, particularly families and individuals who have never had an opportunity to try the sport.
Through a free initial lesson, equipment provided for beginners and easy-to-follow coaching, the facility seeks to reduce the barriers that can discourage people from taking up golf. Children, young people, and adults can learn in a relaxed environment before moving on to larger, more traditional courses as their skills develop.
Westside’s growing programme extends beyond the golf course. Recently, TelcoSigns and Advertising partnered in hosting an “Under the Stars Drive-In Movie Night”, attracting hundreds of guests for a free evening of family entertainment.
That event forms part of the facility’s wider development into a community entertainment and recreation centre for Region Three, with activities designed to appeal to people of different ages and abilities.
