Miner drops bag with gun, ammo, ganja while escaping from Police

Police are on the hunt for a miner who upon seeing them reportedly dropped a haversack containing a gun, several rounds of ammunition and a quantity of ganja.
Police stated that at about 14:20h on Thursday, a party of Police officers travelled to Goldfinger Backdam, Cuyuni River, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni), where they received several reports of miners being threatened, assaulted, and robbed by the suspect, Williams Hendricks.

Whilst there, the ranks received further information that the suspect was staying at a camp in Eroma Backdam.
As such, the ranks proceeded to the area, and upon approaching a camp, they observed Hendricks sitting under the camp. At the time, he had a black haversack in his possession. However, upon seeing the ranks, Hendricks ran into the nearby bushes.
The Police reportedly gave chase, thus causing the suspect to drop the haversack. The bag was retrieved and upon inspection, one black 9mm Ruger pistol along with 17 live rounds of 9mm ammunition in its magazine was found. In addition, a quantity of ganja was found wrapped in a transparent bag.
The police are making every effort to apprehend the suspect, who is known to them.
