More than five months after an accident along the Silver Hill Public Road, Linden-Soesdyke Highway, which claimed the lives of two persons, a 22-year-old woman was on Wednesday slapped with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving. Sharda Rodrigues of Moblissa, Linden-Soesdyke Highway, appeared before Magistrate Tamicka Clarke at the Friendship Magistrate’s Court, where she pleaded not guilty to both charges. Police stated that on November 16, 2025, Rodrigues drove motor car PAG 1280 in a manner dangerous to the public, which claimed the lives of Deron Bobb and 51-year-old Wayne Clarke of Grove Village, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

It was reported that on the day in question, motor car PHH 1632, which was at the time being driven by a 28-year-old man from Grove Village, was heading south when the driver reportedly lost control, veering into the western lane.
The vehicle collided with motorcar PAG 1280, driven by Rodrigues. However, the impact of the collision caused motor car PHH 1632 to overturn, throwing its occupants from the vehicle.

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) later pronounced Bobb and Clarke dead at the scene. The driver of PHH 1632 sustained serious injuries and had to be hospitalised. Rodrigues and two minor passengers also suffered injuries and had to be treated.
Meanwhile, at court on Wednesday, after pleading not guilty to the charges, Rodrigues was granted $250,000 bail on each count, and the matter was adjourned to May 20, 2026.
