Rawle Farrell of Sixth Street, Dazzell Housing Scheme, ECD appeared on Thursday before Cove and John Magistrate Fabayo Azore on a charge of trafficking in narcotics, and was remanded to prison.
Defence Attorney Eusi Anderson requested bail for his client, but this was objected to by CANU Prosecutor Konyo Sandiford.
According to reports, on March 29, CANU ranks received information and proceeded to Farrell’s home. However, when they arrived there, Farrell allegedly made good his escape. In an attempt to apprehend him, the officers reportedly gave chase, but their efforts proved futile.
Nevertheless, a search was conducted on the home, during which several Ziplock plastic bags along with other bulky parcels were found with what is suspected to be cannabis therein. The illegal substance, when weighed, amounted to 1.5 kilograms.
Following that discovery, CANU issued a wanted bulletin for Farrell’s arrest. On April 5, days after the bulletin was issued, Farrell’s mother, other relatives and his attorney took him to CANU Headquarters, where he turned himself in.
The matter has been adjourned to April 29. (G15)
