Officials attend Girls’ Grassroots Festival to mark GFF–DOF Subsea partnership

Several high-level officials and stakeholders were in attendance at the National Gymnasium on Friday, April 24, as the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) hosted a Girls’ Grassroots Festival to mark its new partnership with DOF Subsea.
The event formed part of ongoing efforts to promote the development of women’s football at the grassroots level, with organisers using the occasion to highlight the importance of structured programmes for young female players.

Among those present were CONCACAF General Secretary Philippe Moggio, Deputy British High Commissioner Liam McShane, DOF Subsea Executive Vice President North America Marco Sclocchi, Vice President of Finance North America Samuel Shield, Caribbean General Manager Keith Lewis, and Branch Administrator Jesse Persaud.
Their attendance signalled broad institutional support for the initiative, which aims to expand opportunities for girls to engage in football and benefit from organised training environments.
The Girls’ Grassroots Festival brought together young participants in a developmental setting, reinforcing the shared objective of the GFF and its partners to strengthen the foundation of women’s football in Guyana.
The collaboration between the federation and DOF Subsea is expected to play a key role in creating sustainable pathways for female players, with a focus on long-term growth and increased participation at the community level.
