11th Pentecostal Linden Churches Basketball Championships
The 11th annual Pentecostal Fire-organized Inter-Churches Basketball Championships being played at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard court commenced with wins for the Pentecostal Fire, Full Gospel and South churches.
When the action began on Friday last, Pentecostal Fire gained an exciting 49-47 win over Mount Carmel, with Keifer Tappin leading the way with 14 points, Israel Warden netting 14, and Theodore Tappin and Marlon Pollydore each scoring eight vital points for the winners.
The Webster brothers, Adrian and Joel, ended with game-high scores of 18 and 16 points respectively.
And Full Gospel raced past Praise Tabernacle 51-36 on Saturday, compliments of Compton Burnett’s and Gavin Clarke’s 14 points apiece, and Timothy Carter’s seven.
Kevin Alleyne scored 14 points in playing for the losers, Praise, while Dominic Henry and Kareem Parkinson contributed six points each.
