‘Padlock’ locks out Hicks in Rose Hall Town day 40-miler
Andrew ‘Padlock’ Green returned to the winners’ rows on Sunday when he outsprinted Andrew Hicks to win the Rose Hall Town Day 40-miler.
The two cyclists were off of their seats in the last 100 meters leaving the chasing pack out of sight. It was Green who proved he was the better sprinter crossing the finish line well ahead of his rival.

The five sprint point prizes were shared between the top two riders with Green taking three.
The Event was organised by the Rose Hall Town Anniversary organisation and saw cyclists peddling off from the Arch in the Town to Number 51 Police Station before returning to Rose Hall for the finish at Sha’veh Enterprise.
Occupying the third spot was Jason Cameron ahead of Balram Narine the only rider from Corriverton to finish in the top six.
The other two riders to be awarded prizes for their effort were Clement Doris from West Berbice and Odrel Ross finishing in that order.
Meanwhile, the lone female to participate was Shanika Teixeira.
Organiser and Coach of the Flying Ace Cycle Club Randolph Roberts said the event was possible because of the support of the Corentyne business community.
