The highly anticipated ABSAA-NGE Past, Present and Future All-Stars Benefit football matches which were scheduled to take place over the past weekend have been shifted to today, May 1. The matches were postponed because inclement weather over the weekend resulted in the venue being waterlogged.
However, the action is slated to go down at the GFC ground this afternoon. Gates will be opened from 15:00hrs and a meet-and-greet of the players will take place. Food and drinks will also be on sale.
The first of the thrilling matches is expected to start at 16:00hrs. The Future XI Under-20 game will feature Team Jeremy Garrett coming up against Curtez Kellman’s side. At 18:00hrs the ‘Past’ match will go down with the likes of Deon Barnwell and Anthony ‘Lambada’ Stanton. The final game of the night is expected to bring the most action, with Anthony ‘Awo’ Abrams’s team facing off with Gregory ‘Jackie Chan’ Richardson’s team at 19:00hrs.

Organizer Junior Forrester has said the players are ready to put on a great show for the football fans. “We are looking to fans to come out and support, and fill the football ground to witness over three (3) decades of Guyanese football on one night,” he said.
Admission is set at just $500 and all proceeds are being injected into the Under 19 football tour in July.
