Permaul bags 8-fer as Jaguars celebrate early win

Veerasammy Permaul continued his brilliant season by claiming 8-16 in 11.4 overs, which included three maidens as Guyana Jaguars roared to a seven-wicket win on the third day of the sixth-round clash in Jamaica against the Scorpions.
Jaguars resumed the day on 287-6, with a lead of 71 runs. Vishaul Singh, who was on 93, was stumped on the same score.

Singh made his 93 from 173 balls, which included seven fours. After Singh’s significant score, Kevin Sinclair made 29 from 75 balls, as Jaguars were bowled out for 304 runs.
Scorpions trailed by 88 runs when the second innings commenced, but Permaul showed his class to demolish the Scorpions to 111 all out. Despite Permaul’s eight-wicket haul, Test batsman John Campbelle stood tall with a brilliant 66 from 77 balls, which included six fours. Alwayne Williams made 18, as the opening Scorpions pair added 75 runs.

After that it was the Permaul Show, with Scorpions losing their final nine wickets for 36 runs.
Jaguars then required 24 runs for victory. In pursuit, they lost three wickets and ended on 24-3 in 8.4 overs, in a comprehensive seven-wicket win that was set up by the man they call ‘Gunnerz’, Permaul.
