Police awaiting autopsy report in Tuschen accident
As investigations continue into the fatal accident in which a four-year-old was killed, Police in D Division (West Bank Demerara-East Bank Essequibo) are awaiting the post-mortem examination (PME) report.

This is according to Divisional Commander Leslie James who told Guyana Times on Thursday evening that the PM report is expected to be available sometime today and then the Police will move forward with instituting charges against the female driver.
Ramkaran Mohan, called “Ram” of Lot 1088 Tuschen New Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo, died on Tuesday afternoon at the West Demerara Regional Hospital after he was hit and hauled under a moving car a short distance from his house.
Guyana Times was told that the former Tuschen Nursery School pupil was returning home with his five-year-old brother and teenaged uncle after they went to a shop obliquely oppose their home to purchase a ball.
The lad’s grandmother, Bibi Nazmoon Khan, related that her adopted son, the teenager who accompanied the brothers to the shop, related to them that he was standing at the corner of the road with each of the boys holding his hands, waiting to cross when the silver Toyota Primo, bearing registration number PVV 5084, struck the child.
“The boy was waiting to cross with the two lil boys because he see the car coming so he was waiting for it to pass before they cross but then she (the car driver) swerve into the grass corner and hook the child. She run over the child and she drag him, she didn’t stop. The boy (teenager) had to run behind the car and stop the car, and then she know that she had the child under the car,” the grandmother explained in tears.
Khan added that the woman removed the child from under the vehicle and had someone nearby drive them to the Leonora Cottage Hospital; however, due to his severe condition, he was transferred to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he subsequently succumbed.
The distraught woman related that her grandson suffered severe damage to his skull and brain and experienced difficulty breathing on his own. She added that while doctors were trying to insert a tube to aid in his breathing, he died.
Meanwhile, the post-mortem examination was conducted on the body of four-year-old Mohan on Thursday and it was found that he died as a result of a fractured skull and brain damage.
