Police Constable testifies in PI into court tout’s murder

The Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the murder of Darrell Breedy, who was fatally shot on October 5, 2019, got underway at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Thursday before Magistrate Leroy Daly via Skype.

Twenty-six-year-old Terrence Pitt, called “Sonna Boy” or “Shots”, of Third Street, Timehri, East Bank Demerara (EBD) and 19-year Leon Patterson, of B Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown, were jointly charged for murder of the father of four.
However, in the court on Thursday, Constable Chepeaman Jaisingh was the first to testify and he recalled what transpired on October 5, 2019, when Breedy was murdered.
Two other Constables are expected to testify next Thursday when the matter is called again.
It was reported that on the day in question, 53-year-old Breedy was shot in the abdomen at his Lot 2037 Hummingbird Street home after masked men invaded his properly.

The bandits reportedly gained entry into the two-storey house through a window at the bottom flat of the building. The bandits had carted off a television set and G$11,000. Breedy was shot after he put up a fight against the two bandits who were armed with handguns.

The now dead man was a popular tout, who worked outside of the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts. He was also a construction worker. The PI continues on June 18, 2020.
