Port Mourant Turf Club horse race meet set for September 27

Horse racing action is set for a grand return on Sunday September 27 at the Port Mourant Turf Club. Eight elite races are on the cards with close to 10 million in cash and prizes up for grabs.
It will be the Clash at the Big Yard stakes and Heritage Cup, the first race after the prestigious Guyana Cup, which was hosted in August.
The feature race, which will have a purse of GY$2 million, will be the Clash at the Big Yard Stakes, open to all F1 and lower horses.
There will be races for West Indian bred for two-year-old horses, native bred three-year-old maidens, JKL Maidens four-year-old and over, L Class winners, J&K Winners and H1 and Lower.

All horses will be fresh from a memorable Guyana Cup which was held last month. Port Mourant Turf Club will be a familiar battleground for horses from Jagdeo Racing Stables and some of the horses from JS Racing Stables.
Currently, Jumbo Jet Racing stables are champion stables, having claimed the Guyana Cup crown with Sand Pipes. JS Racing Stables have a good account of themselves at the Guyana Cup, and the competition will be great.
Slingerz Racing Stables horses who arrived less than 72 hours before the Guyana Cup are now acclimatised, and they can also rule the Clash at the Big Yard.
