Reigning champions Slingerz Football Club (FC) will face Santos FC in the feature match on Sunday as the Guyana Football Federation Elite League Season Eight continues this weekend at the National Training Centre, Providence.
The defending champions will take the field at 21:00h in the final match of a four-game weekend schedule spread across Saturday and Sunday.
Sunday’s programme will begin at 18:30h with the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) FC opposing Den Amstel FC. Slingerz and Santos will then close the weekend under the lights.
The action will begin on Saturday, September 12, with Fruta Conquerors FC meeting Ann’s Grove United FC at 18:30h. Camptown FC will then battle Western Tigers FC from 21:00h.
Each team will be seeking valuable points as the league campaign continues, with the defending champions aiming to maintain their position.
Saturday’s matches will give Fruta Conquerors and Ann’s Grove an opportunity to strengthen their campaigns, while the meeting between Georgetown rivals Camptown and Western Tigers is expected to provide a competitive end to the opening night.
GDF and Den Amstel will return to action on Sunday before attention turns to the clash between Slingerz and Santos.
