Restart of football in Bartica: Beacons Edge Agatash, Mil Ballers and Rising Stars draw in Senior Men’s League games

Linden Wallerson of the Beacons FC was the lone scorer in Friday’s double-header in the Bartica Senior Men’s Football League, played at the Bartica Community Centre Ground. Wallerson’s nineth-minute rocket went through the gloves of the Agatash United goalkeeper to give Beacons three points in their first match in the league.

A valiant fight by the opponents failed to produce an equalizer, and the match went to full time with a 1-nil margin.
Rising Stars FC met the little-regarded Mil Ballers FC in the next game, and the fans had thought it would be a one-sided affair. But the Mil Ballers boys stuck to their task, attacking and defending on equal terms with Rising Stars, and at the end of the night, the spoils were divided at one point per team following a nil-all draw.
The league continues over the weekend at the same venue, with Bartica’s oldest club – Wolves United FC – coming up against Lazio FC, and Rivers View FC taking on Potaro Strikers FC.
