Rose Hall Town Thunderbolt Four, Upper Corentyne, Skeldon Titans, Tucber Park and Police were the victorious teams in the second round of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) Stag Beer 50 Overs First Division tournament.
Tucber Park defeated Blairmont Community Centre at the Cotton Tree Ground; Skeldon Titans breezed past Port Mourant; Upper Corentyne created a major upset against powerhouse Albion Community Centre, while Police played well as a unit to arrest Rose Hall Canje.
At the Area ‘H’ Ground, Young Warriors Cricket Club won the toss and batted first, scoring 168 all out in 48 overs. Linden Austin contributed 25, Alex Algoo 23, and Kassim Khan 34. Keith Simpson took 3 for 31, Junior Sinclair took 2 for 28, and Eon Hooper took 2 for 25.
RHT Thunderbolt Flour scored 170 for 4 in 30 overs. Delbert Hicks made 106 not out (8 fours, three sixes). Eon Hooper made 35 not out. Trevlon Stanislaus took 4 for 24 (8 overs).
At the Cotton Tree Ground, Tucber Park Cricket Club, on the back of a brilliant all-round performance from Damion Vantull, defeated Blairmont Community Centre by four wickets. Blairmont Community Centre made 143 all out in 30.5 overs, with Marvin Prashad contributing 26, Nigel Deodat 16, W. Inshan 27, and Kevin Jahawir 31. Nial Smith took 2 for 24, Leon Swammy 2 for 23, Kwesi Mickle 2 for 36, and Damien Vantull 3 for 13.
Tucber Park scored 146 for 6 in 24 overs. Maxi De Jonge made 38, Clifton Lindie made 35, and Damien Vantull made 30 not out. Nigel Deodat took 3 for 43, and Seon Glasgow 3 for 38.
At the Crabwood Creek Ground, Skeldon defeated Port Mourant by 7 wickets. Port Mourant Cricket Club made 151 all out in 36 overs; Tristan Ramsarran made 52 not out, M. Ranato 20, and Mahendra Boodram 17. Wayne Garnette took 5 for 28, Zeikel Gordon 2 for 20, and Kevin Clarke 2 for 45.
Skeldon Titans made 156 for 3 in 16.2 overs. Trishan Ramdass and Kevin Clarke each contributed 38, and Errington Seegobin made 57 not out. Arif Chan, S. Khan and Rampersaud Ramnauth each took a wicket for Port Mourant.
At the No. 69 Ground, Upper Corentyne created a major upset with a victory over Albion Community Centre by 15 runs. Upper Corentyne made 111 all out in 28 overs, with Lakeram Latchman contributing 30. Albion Community Centre scored 96 all out in 19 Overs, with Gudakesh Motie contributing 20, while Virendra Gooniah took 3 for 20 and Stephen Embrack 4 for 15.
At Canje Ground, Police Sports Club got the better of Rose Hall Community Centre Cricket Club by 2 wickets. Rose Hall Com Centre scored 194 all out in 37 overs. M. Veersammy made 43, Ameer Rahaman 22, and J. Wartman 3 for 28. Grisean Grant took 3 for 7.
Police Sports Club made 195 for 8 from 29 overs. Z. Hussain took 2 for 34, Isaiah Thorne took 2 for 49, and B. Ramsarran took 2 for 23.
