Rising Star hosted fruitful Independence Fitness Walk and Run

In observance of Guyana Golden Jubilee of Independence, the Rising Star Track Club in collaboration with the Ministry Presidency hosted a successful fitness walk, 5K and 10K run. The Event which saw over 200 participants commenced at 16:30 at Mandela Avenue and concluded at the National Sports Commission on Homestretch Avenue.
Winston Missigher was once again the star man winning his second 10K race of the day after earlier defeating Guyana’s best distance

Runner Cleveland Forde, who returned to competition having fully recovered from injury. The impressive Missigher won the race by outsprinting his training partner Cleveland Thomas to the finish line while Euleen Josiah Tanner was not to be outdone in also winning her second female 10K of the day ahead of Ashanti Scott.
The Male 5K was won by Oudwin Theodore with Shenika Tyrell securing the female version. Murphy Mash was victorious in the 13-15 category followed by Shirman Bobb and Brandon Johnson while Shaka Tyrell won the female title in the said division ahead of Serena Williams and Sheanna Tyrell respectively.
Participant received Independence Jubilee medals, T-Shirts and wrist bands while eighteen bicycles were awarded to winners.
