Sanasie reports Skerritt to CWI Ethics Committee

– presidency bid in limbo

Cricket West Indies Presidential Contender, Guyana’s Anand Sanasie, made a bombshell disclosure on the Mason and Guest radio programme this evening: that he has “activated” an internal process to report incumbent President Ricky Skerritt.
While Sanasie did not disclose full details, it is understood that he has lodged a formal written complaint with CWI Corporate Secretary Alanna Medford-Singh regarding Skerritt’s meeting with Guyana’s Minister of Sport, Charles Ramson Jr.
Sanasie is contending that the full CWI board was not informed of the meeting, and the decisions flowing from the meeting are designed to create an unfair advantage for Skerritt’s bid to be re-elected.
Skerritt reportedly met in a virtual meeting with the Guyana Sport Minister, along with a group of handpicked CWI directors, excluding Sanasie and his running mate Calvin Hope of Barbados.
Should Sanasie’s complaint be upheld by the CWI Ethics Committee, it could see Skerritt being disqualified from his re-election bid.
Skerritt is reportedly attempting to avoid facing the CWI Ethics Committee, which is chaired by Caribbean Court of Justice Judge Winston Anderson.
