Seven Dust throws challenge to Lucky Star

The Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sports Facility at Alness Village on the Corentyne Coast in East Berbice is scheduled to host a horse race meet on September 23; and currently, more than 40 entries have already been received for the card, which consists of six categories.

The intense action on the track continues this Sunday at the Crawford Memorial Turf Club

The H & Lower race, which carries the most attract top prize of $300,000, will see many competitors running their hearts out, but the in-form Seven Dust, hailing from the Habibullah Stables, is expected to prove a point to defending champion Lucky Star, hailing from the Cheefoon Stables, and veteran jockey May May will be on board Lucky Star.
Many may wonder why Seven Dust is being placed in the same category as Lucky Star, but according to the club’s organizing secretary Compton Sancho, Seven Dust has been coming along nicely, picking up wins throughout the year.
Lucky Star recently claimed the coveted prize of $300,000 in the Kennard Memorial Emancipation Day meet on August 8, 2018.
Who will win? Only the best horse ridden by the best jockey.
Sanco also went on to state that horse racing fans should not only focus on the Lucky Star vs Seven Dust rivalry, but pay attention to key horses, such as Orion coming out of the Crawford Stables and Not This Time hailing from Sophia, who recently won the race for three-year-old Guyana-bred horses in the Guyana Cup 2018.
There will be other exciting races, such as the L2 & Lower, which fetches a first prize of $70,000; L1 & Lower, with a prize of $100,000 for the winner; the J & Lower, the victor of which would cart off $160,000; the L3 race, with a first prize of 50,000; and the Two-Year Maiden, which has a first place prize of $100,000. The entrants billed to compete include Chammaley, Not This Time, Party Time Orion, Kentucky Woman, Mary-Ann, Lucky Star, Gypsie Princess, Slim Shady and Baba Rosa; but there are many other horses billed to compete, and among them might be many of the proverbial dark horses.
