South Ruimveldt aiming to dethrone St Angela’s

South Ruimveldt Primary are not taking themselves out of championship honours when they battle formidable defending champions St Angela’s Primary in the final of the Smalta/ Ministry of Public Health Girls School Pee-Wee Football Tournament on Saturday at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue.

This year’s action makes the final not one to miss

South Ruimveldt’s coach Wheatland Fordyce says that they have their particular difficulties but will be there on the day to give a good account of themselves.
The south Georgetown school will be the underdog going into Saturday’s battle after playing inconsistent in this year tournament with four win and a loss.
They opened their campaign with wins against  Stella Mairs and West Ruimveldt but then went down to F E Pollard in their third fixture.
They bounced  back in the quarter finals  and semi-finals  with wins over North Georgetown and West Ruimveldt.

Meanwhile, St Angela’s who romp to their first title in 2016 have dominated all other contender to the crown this year. They needled North Georgetown in their first game before whipping redeemer primary in their second outing and reaching the quarter final after winning against School of the Nations.

The quarter final, is when they really got into their stride with a 5-nil stopping of Tucville before reaching the final after putting four pass St Pius.
Team captain Nakasie St Jules has been a force to reckon for Angela’s recording eight goals in five matches to lead her side to the finals.

Coach and father of star player Wayne St Jules says that are intent on going all the way on Saturday .
“We have been training once a week for this tournament, the girls are in the right frame of mind and the right mood for this tournament”, the coach stated.
The final is set to kick off at 15:00 hrs.
