Cameron, whose father is Guyanese, recently returned to his roots as he took part in the coaching clinic facilitated by the Elite Level 4 Guyanese player/coach.
Cameron, who took some 3 flights en route to Guyana, said he wanted to work with a coach who genuinely cared and wanted to share the knowledge of the sport.
The overseas player was seemingly impressed by the achievements of local squash star Nicolette Fernandes, who was an early student of Ince, He added: “There was no hesitation in choosing to take the Levels 1 & 2 in Guyana with Coach Ince, and learn from the master of success”.
The foreigner credited the local players as well as the overall hospitality of the Guyanese for his wanting to return to Guyana. He credited the time spent training on the highway at Ince’s farm, stating that the experience allowed him to soak up the knowledge without distractions.
As a senior, he trained with Coach Mark Forster, who focused on fitness, and Coach Lucas Buit, who focused on court training, both of whom contributed greatly to his success. Eager to take his new knowledge back to the Cayman Islands, Cameron believes that he can now be more proficient in programme planning, running tournaments, and the coaching approach of mixing beginners and intermediates.
