The Guyana National Stadium, Providence, East Bank Demerara, is the place to be this Saturday as Heavenly Light, Mocha presents Natasha Tameika “Tasha” Cobbs Leonard and Band live in concert.
“Tasha” Cobbs is a popular American urban contemporary gospel musician and songwriter. She released the extended play “Grace” in 2013 with EMI Gospel. The extended play record (EP) reached number 61 on the Billboard charts.
At the 56th annual Grammy Awards, Cobbs won the Grammy for Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance.
She grew up in the church at Jesup New Life Ministries, which her parents led. These worship services are where she started singing from her childhood and into her young adult years.
On March 3, 2017, in a private ceremony attended by family and friends, she married her long time love, Kenneth Leonard. His three children were present at the ceremony to welcome her into their family. She is known for her powerful and soulful voice.
She will be sharing the stage with some of Guyana’s best gospel singers including Shawn English, Mariam Williams, Sean Sobers and Melissa Vanderyar.
In addition, Redeemers Band, PEK’s Band, Dominion Dancers, HLT Dancers and many others will take to the stage.
Early bird tickets cost $1500 and are available at M&M Snackette (Demerara Harbour Bridge); Joseph Record Bar (Regent Street and Vreed-en-Hoop); Kester D Music Shop (Orange Walk); Oriental General Store (Water Street); Little Rock Hotel (New Amsterdam); Nigel’s Supermarket (Robb Street) and all Church’s Chicken locations.
If you did not pick up your tickets early, patrons will be required to pay $2000 at the gate.
