Teen chopped to head during argument

– WBD man stabbed during drinking spree

A teenager was admitted a patient at the New Amsterdam Hospital after he was chopped to the forehead by another teen during an argument at Wallace Street Cumberland, East Canje, Berbice, on Saturday evening.
Police preliminary reports stated that on the day in question at about 20:30h, the now injured 15-year-old old boy went to a shop at Wallace Street Cumberland, East Canje, Berbice, and whilst there, he and the suspect had a heated argument.
However, the suspect reportedly left the shop and returned with a cutlass in his hands. He then dealt the victim one chop to his forehead. The injured lad was subsequently taken to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he was treated and admitted a patient in a stable condition.
The matter was reported and as such, the suspect was contacted, told of the allegation and arrested. He is assisting with investigations.
Meanwhile, a man of Sisters Village, West Bank Demerara (WBD), was stabbed about his body during a drinking spree at Belle West, WBD, on Sunday.
The Police stated that on the day in question at about 19:40h, the victim and suspect were consuming alcohol when an argument broke out between them.
During the argument, the suspect reportedly grabbed a glass bottle, broke it and stabbed the victim several times about his body after which he made good his escape.
The victim raised an alarm and he was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was treated and referred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. There, he was further treated and admitted a patient in a stable condition. The suspect remains on the run.
