Teenager attacked, lashed to head with wood

A 14-year-old boy of Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, Berbice, was admitted to the New Amsterdam Hospital after he was attacked on Saturday evening.
Police stated that at about 18:30h on Saturday, the teenager was standing on High Dam when the suspect suddenly walked up to him and dealt him several blows to the head with a piece of wood.
Soon after the incident, the teenager was taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was treated and admitted a patient.
Meanwhile, the suspect has since been arrested and is assisting with the investigations.
