Thousands have lost their jobs, thousands more will lose their jobs

Dear Editor,
With the imminent closure of GuySuCo, unless funding is found, thousands will lose their jobs due to industry failure.
Thousands have already lost their jobs as the APNU/AFC Government attempts to balance their books and make a profit off citizens. I say this because they introduced VAT on water and electricity, as well as widened the tax base to garner more revenue.
In attempting to balance the books by sacking thousands, the APNU/AFC Government demonstrated that they are living in a dream world. In Government, the books rarely get balanced, as there is always something that needs resources, and there are always emergencies.
When the APNU/AFC came to power in 2015, a lot of goodwill was granted to them; only for them to squander this goodwill. There can be no denying that the “downsizing” of GuySuCo, leading to thousands of citizens losing their jobs, cost the APNU/AFC the 2nd March 2020 elections, as citizens saw how heartless they were.

Yours faithfully,
Sean Ori
