Trio slapped with threatening behaviour charges

Patrina Johnson appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts to answer to a charge of threatening behaviour.
The Police stated that on March 2, 2021, at D’Urban Backlands, Georgetown, she threatened Christy. Johnson pleaded guilty with an explanation.
The defendant told Magistrate Daly that the woman pushed her hands in her face and she retaliated by picking up a piece of wood and requested for the woman to remove from the premises.
Johnson was fined $10,000 with an alternative of two days’ imprisonment.
Meanwhile, Teron Roberts also appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts where he was charged with using threatening behaviour towards his neighbour.
It is alleged that on March 4, while being armed with a screwdriver, he threatened his neighbour.
Roberts was released on self-bail after entering a not guilty plea.
He was also placed on a bond to keep the peace until the matter is completed before the court. The matter was adjourned to April 9, 2021.
Also appearing at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on a similar charge was Andre Ned.
Ned, a 31-year-old vendor who hails from Mabaruma, pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on February 23, 2021, at Lambert Street, Georgetown, he made use of threatening behaviour to Carl Duncan.
According to the prosecutor, on the day in question, Ned chased the Virtual Complainant with a knife during a misunderstanding. He was released on self–bail and will make his next court appearance on April 6, 2021.
