Unbeaten GT Ballers crowned National 3×3 Champions

GT Ballers led a flawless, unbeaten campaign at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH), Homestretch Avenue on Sunday to clinch the National 3×3 title when the National Championships were hosted by the Guyana Basketball Federation (GBF).
Comprising Kidani Brutus, Shelroy Thomas, Kimol Grimmond, Stephen George and eventual Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament, Anish Ramlall, GT Ballers started their campaign with three wins in the group stage, setting the tone for what was to come.
First, they overcame Titans 18-11 and then edged tournament favourites and first-seeded side Renegades 13-12 in their second group fixture. GT Ballers then closed out the group stage with a 22-12 victory over Young Ballers.

In the semi-final, Ramlall put up 14 points, inclusive of 6 2-pointers as GT Ballers cruised to a 21-12 victory over SYG Squad. Daniel Chisholm was the top-scorer for SYG, netting seven points.
On the other hand, Renegades, comprising Travis Belgrave, Akil Hughes, Dominic Vincente and Nikkoloi Smith, ensured that they would have another date with GT Ballers in the final after punching their ticket to the championship fixture by defeating Linden Ballers 17-8.
Smith and Belgrave added seven points each to the winners tally while Vibert Benjamin was Linden s top scorer in that game, netting 4 points.
In the final, Ramlall was again dominant, receiving the necessary support from his teammates to pull off a 21-14 victory to secure the championship trophy. Ramlall added another eight points to his personal tally while Grimmond netted seven and Thomas contributed six points. For the Renegades, Belgrave was their most efficient scorer with six points, assisted by Vincente with four points.

As such, GT Ballers carted off the $300,000 grand prize while the Renegades had to settle for the $200,000 second-place reward. SYG Squad went on to clinch the third-place position and a $100,000 prize.
Copping the MVP award, Ramlall accumulated 49 points across his five-game outing, punctuated by 16 2-pointers. SYG Squad s Daniel Chisholm was the next best scorer in the competition with 34 points in four games. Gevon Ross of Young Ballers followed, amassing 30 points in three games.
The National 3×3 Championships was a necessary component for the GBF as Guyana prepare to make their 3×3 debut at this year s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. The games will run from July 23 to August 2, 2026.
