Volleyball rivalries intensify in DVA male playoffs

The male playoffs of the Demerara Volleyball Association (DVA) continued this week at the National Gymnasium with exciting clashes between Groups A and B as teams battled for supremacy in the first-to-30-points format.
Tuesday’s Group B playoff action featured three competitive teams — Premier Eagles, Glasgow Rangers, and Castrol Strikers – each looking to secure a strong position in the standings.
In the opening encounter, Glasgow Rangers delivered a commanding performance to defeat Castrol Strikers 30-18. Rangers controlled the tempo throughout the contest with disciplined serving and effective attacking play.

Action in the male DVA playoffs

The second match saw Premier Eagles edge past Glasgow Rangers in a highly competitive showdown. After a closely fought battle, Premier Eagles emerged victorious 30-25 to stamp their authority in the group.
Premier Eagles then returned to the court for the third and final game of the evening and completed a perfect outing by defeating Castrol Strikers 30-22. Their consistent attacking and defensive coordination proved too strong as they finished the night unbeaten.
On Wednesday, Group A teams took centre stage with Classic Ball Blasters (CBB), Vanguard and Queens College (QC) competing for the top spot in the playoffs.
CBB opened their night in dominant fashion with a convincing 30-16 victory over QC. CBB displayed excellent teamwork and composure from the start.
Vanguard followed with another impressive showing against QC, securing a comfortable 30-17 win to remain in contention.
However, the feature match of the evening belonged to Classic Ball Blasters and Vanguard. In a clash between the group’s top performers, CBB maintained their unbeaten run with a strong 30-22 victory over Vanguard to top Group A.
With the playoffs intensifying, fans can expect more thrilling volleyball action as the teams continue their quest for championship glory at the National Gymnasium.
