2018 GCB Female Franchise U-17 Schools T20 League…

The 2018 GCB Female Franchise Under 17 T20 tournament got off to a brilliant start on Monday with West Demerara and Lower Corentyne gaining victory over West Berbice and Upper Coprentyne respectively.
As the action commenced over at Albion ground, Lower Corentyne posted an acceptable 93 for 2 in a reduced 15-over match, after winning the toss.
Openers Ashmini Munisar and Shenia Simon featured in a 52-run partnership, scoring 22 and 18 respectively, while Amesha Samaroo and Niveena Ramnauth were not out on 9 and 3 respectively when the overs expired.
Leading the bowling for Upper Corentyne was Shanaya Fraser with 1- 20, while the other wicket was a runout.
In reply, Upper Corentyne struggled to reach their total, scoring 66 for 8 in their allotted 15 overs, and falling 27 runs short of the target. Fraser top-scored with 17, while Upper Corentyne’s Ashmini Munisar picked up 3 for 14, with support from Niveena Ramnauth who took 2 for 5.
