ꟷ Pageant billed for Saturday evening
The National Cultural Centre (NCC) is the place to be this Saturday evening as 10 Amerindian beauties take to the stage to compete for the title of Miss Indigenous Heritage 2019.
The delegates are Esther Marslowe (Region One); Shauna Fredericks (Region Two); Natalia Patterson (Region Three); AnnMera Simon (Region Four); Rosetta Fredericks (Region Five); Varshnie Herman (Region Six); Jeline DaSilva (Region Seven); Katie Williams (Region Eight); Luana Allicock (Region Nine) and Shevon Williams (Region 10).
The delegates were officially introduced to the public on Saturday last at the Everest Cricket Club Ground during the Indigenous Heritage Day of Sport.
The beauties are presently making sure that everything is in order for the big night. Their elaborate gowns and more so, their traditional outfits are always eye-catching.
Most of the delegates are also making sure that their talent pieces are well-rehearsed so that come Pageant night, they can impress the judges with hopes of getting the nod.
The Pageant will commence with the opening dance and introduction. The other segments will include talent, a question-and-answer segment on their platforms, evening wear, traditional wear and most importantly, the final question. The final question will be asked after the final five delegates are announced.
As of this evening, the NCC is being prepped for one of the most anticipated events that will draw the curtains down on a long month of activities to celebrate Guyana’s Indigenous people. The crowned queen will have an opportunity to showcase her community and Indigenous people as a whole.
Apart from the prizes, the queen will have bragging rights and attend events organised by the Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs Ministry.
Tickets for the Pageant cost $2500, $2000 and $1500 and are available at the Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs Ministry and the National Cultural Centre’s box office.
