3rd Rock Entertainment Basketball tourney bounces off Saturday

− Kwakwani open quest against Jets at MSC hard court

Outsiders Kwakwani will face fourth ranked Amelia’s Ward Jets at 21:00h and third rated Victory Valley Royals are to take on fifth seed Block 22 Flames at 19:00h in opening encounters when the 3rd Rock Entertainment 2nd Annual Open basketball championship bounces off Saturday night at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard court.
However, on Friday at 16:00h the tournament will be launched at the Linden Enterprise Network (LEN) Boardroom where the remaining fixtures and rules will be released.
The six Linden clubs Retrieve Raiders, Half Mile Bulls, Victory Valley Royals, Block 22 Flames and Bankers Trust Falcons will be joined by newcomers Kwakwani, battling it out for top honours where the winners will collect $100,000.
Details of the prizes at stake and the rules are to be made available in the tournament which has been sanctioned by the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) and all clubs must complete their affiliation and registration of 15 players for the championship.

Retrieve Raiders are through to the semi-finals as the number one ranked Linden club while second ranked half mile Bulls, third seed Royals and Block 22 flames are battling for two slits into the semi-finals while in the other half Kwakwani the sixth ranked falcons and fourth seed jets are battling it out to face raiders in the other semi-final. This tournament will run for five days with Sunday seeing another double header set for the tournament venue the MSC hard court.
The final set of preliminary matches is set for next Saturday August 13 while the semi-finals are to be played on Sunday August 14 and the final set for Saturday, August 20.
