Albion defeated Port Mourant by eight wickets on Saturday last to advance to the final of the Berbice Cricket Board’s (BCB’s) Ramnaresh Sarwan Under-17 Fifty-Over Cricket Competition.

In a match reduced to 40 overs due to rain, Port Mourant won the toss at the Albion Community Centre Ground and took first strike. They were restricted to 82 for 8 from their allotted overs, with Salon Khan making 19.
Left-arm spinner Inzam Shazam took 4 for 21 in bowling for Albion, who responded with 84 for 2 off 13 overs. Hemendra Gurdyal led the way with 28, and Naresh Veerasammy contributed 18.

Albion upset Rose Hall Town to reach U-15 semis
Permaul’s Trading and Distribution (PTD), an Albion team, whipped Rose Hall Town (RHT) by 73 runs to advance to the Under-15 semi-final play in Berbice.
Albion (PTD) made 153 for 9 in 30 overs, with Tameshwar Mahadeo and Naresh Veerasammy each contributing 25. Shiv Harripersaud registered 19 and Damien Cecil 18.
For RHT, Nathan Kistama took 3 for 21 and Mathew Potaya 2 for 26.
RHT responded with 80 all out in 25.5 overs, with Raayad Rahaman making 27. Medium pacers Manoo Inasi and Antonio Ramphal each took two wickets, for 6 and 8 respectively; while Mahadeo grabbed 2 for 12 with his off-spin.
