Kobras and Retrieve Raiders progressed to the final stages of the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) “Road to Mecca IV” after recording wins last weekend at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Thanks to a whopping 41 points from point guard Travis Burnett the most in the tournament thus far, Kobras disposed of Pacesetters 84-64 as advance further in the club championships.

Pacesetters lost their first game of the competition when their former son, Burnett, dominated the court and his old mates to help the Kobras keep their momentum moving forward. Pacesetters scoring were led by Nathan Saul whose 11 points was the most among his mates, while seasoned shooter Stephan Gillis finished with eight points.
Retrieve Raiders managed to sneak past the Plaisance Guardians, beating the East Coast based team 59-52 in their elimination match. Ravens, who were behind versus the Half Mile Bulls made a dramatic comeback to win by a point in their thriller which went down 76-75.

The pendulum swung both ways in this game as the Linden team led 22-14 at the end of the first quarter. By the third quarter the action had already gotten underway as both parties found the nets consistently to end the third quarter 60-56, in favor of the Bulls. The last quarter were the Raiders bullying the court with Darcell Harris the man who lifted his team to a win after bettering the Bulls 20-15, in the final quarter.
