“Hit It for 50” schools’ windball cricket competition…

In the “Hit It for 50” schools’ windball cricket competition ongoing at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Homestretch Avenue, action over the weekend produced notable wins for Central High, L’Aventure Secondary, Camille’s Academy, and Mae’s Secondary in the male and female categories being contested.
In the Boys’ category, the first matchup involved The New Central High School and Saint Roses High. Central accumulated 122-1, with D Tiwari top scoring with 64. Saint Roses, in reply, could muster only 93-3, of which Kevie Chamaideen scored 48.

Camille’s Ronaldo Blair scored 100 and took 6-16

In game two, L’Aventure Secondary played against Richard Ishmael Secondary and posted 176-2, with J Samaroo top scoring again with 39 and receiving support from Mohan La Cruz’s 34 and Anail Zamal’s 31. The Richard Ishmael innings came to an end on 92-7, with M. Joseph being the only player to exert effort in scoring 22. J. Samaroo was again dominant with the ball, capturing 4-6, while A. Zamal chipped in with 2-16.
Camille’s Academy raced to 153-0 against Vreed-en-Hoop Secondary, with Ronaldo Blair scoring the first century for 2020 and being able to bag 6-16, while Nkosi Morris chipped in with 34. In reply, Vreed-en-Hoop fell for 97-3, with Devindra Persaud scoring 31.
Play in the Girls’ category saw St Roses High mustering only 48-6, with Madassa Punnusam scoring 16. Camille’s Tarnica Simon was the chief destroyer with returns of 5 wickets for 8 runs. Camille’s Academy made light work of the total, ending on 51-0. Shani Jackson led the way with 22.
The final match of the day saw Mae’s Secondary registering a dominant 146-5, with Christine Ramdial leading the way with 77, and receiving support of 38 from Krystal De Souza. Abigail Corbin bagged 4-36. In reply, L’Aventure Secondary mustered 127-0, with Kezie Nethland scoring 43, and A. Corbin 30.
