Charlestown, St Stanislaus College record wins

St Stanislaus College and Charlestown Secondary secured recent victories in the Guyana Cricket Board/Demerara Mutual Life Assurance Society Limited/National Sports Commission/National Secondary School Cricket League (GCB/DMLAS/NSC/NSSCL) which continued this past week.
In the match between Charlestown and Dolphin Secondary Schools, played at the Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) Ground, Woolford Avenue, Dolphin batting first were bundled out for 37 in 8.3 of their allotted 30 overs.
National Under-15 opener Shamar Yearwood was the top-scorer with 21 after Colin Smart bagged 4 for 18 for Charlestown. Smart was well supported by Satesh Shivrattan with 2-17 and Raymond Bandhu (2-4).
Needing 38 for victory, Charlestown Secondary raced to an eight-wicket win after ending on 40-2 from a mere 3.3 overs, with Shivrattan and Bandhu ending unbeaten on 14 and 17 respectively.
Over at the GNIC Ground, Brickdam Secondary School, who won the toss and batted first, only managed 53-10 in 14.2 overs. No batsman got into double figures as Munnasseh Ferreira was the top-scorer with 9. Medium pacer Nathan Hackett grabbed 3-11 while off-spinner Travis Thomas claimed 2-8. In reply, St Stanislaus College surged to 59-0, compliments of knocks from the unbeaten pair of Veeraj Persaud (26) and Rene Huston (18).
