BCB/New York Business Group Under-19…
Guyana Under-17 player Nigel Deodat led the Blairmont Cricket Club to a

resounding victory over the West Berbice Under-19 team.
Fellow national youth player Marvan Prashad and Neil Persaud added solid performances for Blairmont.
The powerhouse Blairmont team took first strike and racked up 365-7 in their allotted 50 overs. Deodat cracked an impressive 134 while Prashad continued his
brilliant performance with a solid 82. Deinauth Persaud and Guyana youth player Seon Glasgow had scores of 51 and 40 respectively.
Deodat took a liking to the bowlers, as the

right-handed batsman, who is known for his steady left-arm spin bowling, proved his worth with the bat, and destroyed the West Berbice bowlers. Shamar Angel was the best West Berbice bowler with 2-34.
In reply, West Berbice were out of sorts and were bundled out for 229.
The elegant Navindra Persaud top-scored with a composed 84 while Nick Singh missed out on a half-century, scoring 48. Prashad, who was once the most valuable player at the Under-15 level, returned with his troubling off-spin and grabbed 3-48.
Deodat, with his attractive left-arm spin, bowled with great control and had economic figures of 2-20. Glasgow, who bowls off-spin, supported with 2-22 in an all-round bowling performance by Blairmont. The Blairmont team ended the match winning by 137 runs. (Brandon Corlette)
