The host will be led by in-form batsman Khemraj Ramdeen in a lineup that will feature several technically sound batsmen like Ashkaya Persaud, Dwayne Adams and others.
However, they will miss the duties of their leading bowler in the tournament, Javed Rasheed, who is out with an injury to his right hand and Bhaskar Yadram who left today to participate in a West Indies U-19 training camp.
The host defeated powerhouse Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) by first innings points in the quarterfinals to get to this stage after an outstanding batting display. They piled up a mammoth total of 387 all out, with Ramdeen striking 97, Yadram 63 and Dwayne Adams 58, before restricting DCC to 214-9, compliments of all-rounder Saheed Mohamed and Adams, who claimed four wickets apiece.
GNIC scored 325-9 declared and 223-8 declared in their quarterfinal match against Guyana Defence Force (GDF), who folded for a paltry 71 in their only innings.
The Woolford Avenue side batting will feature former youth player Ovid Richardson, who blasted successive centuries (121 and 100*) in the quarterfinal and experience player David Dick.
Like Everest, GNIC will miss one of its marquee players, Joshua Persaud, who will be a part of the said camp as Yadram.
The winner of this match will play against the winner of semifinal two between Transport Sports Club (TSC) and Police Sports Club.
The match is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m
