Home Sports GCB/Rubis Under-17 Inter-County bowls off today
The first round of matches in the Guyana Cricket Board’s (GCB’s) Inter-County Under-17 tournament are scheduled to bowl off today at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) ground at Bourda in Georgetown and at the Enmore Community Centre ground on the Demerara East Coast.
At GCC, Demerara will do battle against Berbice, while at Enmore, Essequibo will oppose the Select Under-15 XI. Both matches are scheduled to commence from 09:30 hours.
According to a release from the GCB, the competition will be played under the Rubis Bel Air brand and managed through Cricket Guy Inc., as the staff of the GCB is not authorised to sign cheques or engage in any spending on behalf of the GCB.
Through the personal contributions of Lalta Gainda, Nazimul Drepaul, Anand Sanasie, Rahaman “Buddy” Khan and Richard Johad, the games will go on.
The GCB vows to keep the public appraised on the recent development in the court regarding numerous matters filed against the Executives of the GCB by the Berbice Cricket Board through Rabindranauth Sawack and the Georgetown Cricket Association through Roger Harper.
The Board also pledges to continue on its path of youth development and success despite the difficult times.
