Golden League Archery has been recognised for its contribution to youth development after partnering with the University of Guyana (UG)’s Regional Accelerator for STEM Students’ Readiness (RASSR) programme, an initiative designed to equip students with practical skills and experiences beyond the classroom.
The club, led by President and UG Archery Coach Courtlee Rodrigues, was honoured for its role in supporting students participating in the RASSR programme. Through a series of coaching sessions and interactive activities, the club introduced students to the fundamentals of archery while promoting discipline, focus and teamwork.

Rodrigues, along with club coaches Richard Dookie, Shiva Tularam, Coach Joy Klass and other members of the Golden League Archery team, worked closely with students, staff and volunteers throughout the programme.
Reflecting on the partnership, Rodrigues highlighted the wider impact of the initiative on both the sport and youth development in Guyana.
“This programme continues to foster the development of archery in Guyana even as it serves the expansion of skill sets of our youth. Golden League Archery is proud to be part of this rich and innovative section of Guyanese history. The University of Guyana and Golden League Archery are indeed stronger together.”
Golden League Archery said it was privileged to contribute to the programme, describing the experience as an opportunity to inspire students while showcasing the benefits of the sport.
The RASSR programme forms part of UG‘s efforts to strengthen students’ readiness for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines through innovative learning experiences and partnerships with organisations across the country.
The collaboration also reflects the growing role of archery in Guyana as more schools, universities and community organisations embrace the sport as a tool for developing concentration, confidence, patience and leadership among young people.
