Guinness “Greatest of the Streets” GT Zone: Laing Avenue, Bent Street B advance as Round of 32 wraps up

The Round of 32 of the 2025 Guinness “Greatest of the Streets” Georgetown zone was completed on Friday night at the National Cultural Centre tarmac on Mandela Avenue, as several teams secured progression to the next stage of the competition.
Backed by a sizable crowd, Bent Street B produced one of the more convincing results of the evening, defeating Unity Ballers 3-0, while Team Cruel recorded a 4-1 win over Corinthians to underline their attacking strength. Defending champions Laing Avenue edged Gaza Squad 1-0 in a closely-contested encounter, and Z-Tekk advanced with a narrow 1-0 victory over North Ruimveldt.

Albouystown also progressed after a 2-1 win against Young Stars, while North East La Penitence secured a 1-0 result against K-Town All-Stars. Leopold got past Kingston by a similar 1-0 margin, and National All-Stars completed the list of winners with a 2-0 triumph over Team Madrid.
With the Round of 32 now concluded, attention shifts to the Round of 16, which is scheduled to commence on Thursday, April 23, at the same venue. The upcoming fixtures will see Z-Tekk opposing Bent Street B at 19:00h, followed by Albouystown taking on Leopold at 19:30h. Team Cruel will meet New Bay Ballers at 20:00h, while Island All-Stars face Broad Street at 20:30h.
In the later matches, Festival City will play North East La Penitence at 21:00h, and National All-Stars are set to oppose Team Immaculate at 21:30h. Gold is Money will come up against East Coast All-Stars at 22:00h, while Sparta Boss will battle Laing Avenue in the final fixture at 22:30h.
The stakes remain significant as teams continue their pursuit of the $1 million top prize. The second-place finisher will receive $400,000, while third and fourth will earn $200,000 and $100,000 respectively. Additionally, three qualifying spots for the national championships are on offer.
