Guyana to play T10 tournament in Trinidad

– Bravo, Narine, Pollard, Paul to feature

A familiar bunch of players will represent Guyana in the UDeCOTT T10 International Cricket Tournament to be played in Trinidad and Tobago from Friday June 7th to Sunday June 9th instant.

Leon Johnson

The Guyana squad will be led by the proven and dependable Leon Johnson, and will feature West Indies World Cup reserve player Keemo Paul, Sherfane Rutherford and Raymon Reifer besides, according to the Trinidad and Tobago Newsday, the spin twins of Veerasammy Permaul and Devandra Bishoo.
Their opponent teams will feature some of the big names in West Indies Cricket, including Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Sunil Narine, Andre Fletcher and Kesrick Williams.

Sunil Narine

The ten-over tournament will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, and is expected to see Guyana facing off against North Tobago, South Central, and the Windwards Islands.
Windwards will rely on their top players Andre Fletcher, Kesrick Williams and young batsman Alick Athanaze. North Tobago will have the services of Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Sunil Narine, and Lendl Simmons; while South Central will be led by West Indies Test player Denesh Ramdin, and would include Imran Khan and Jason Mohammed.
At stake in this tournament is a first prize of TT$75,000, and competition gets underway on Friday with Guyana taking on South Central from 18:00 hrs.
The tournament is sponsored by the (Trinidad) National Lotteries Control Board, In-Electra Limited, First Citizens Bank; and Southern Sales and Service, which will be donating to a charity of the players’ choice TT$500 for every six hit up to a total of TT$30,000, and TT$1,000 to every fan who takes a one-handed catch in the stands.
