Murder Accused: Vindra Siriram

Guyana Times understands that the summing up of the case before the jury could deliberates was affected owing to technical glitches.
As such, Justice James Bovell-Drakes adjourned the matter for Siriram, who has been on trial for allegedly murdering the mother of his three children at their Friendship, East Bank Demerara (EBD) home. It was stated that Siriram and Persaud were heard arguing prior to the woman’s death.
A post-mortem examination later revealed that Persaud died as a result of drowning and manual strangulation. The pathologist had testified that there were marks of violence about the body and signs of compression as if someone forced her head down. Persaud was 25 years old at the time of her demise and she was said to have dropped out of school during the relationship.
Damian Da Silva is representing the defendant while Seeta Bishundial and Shawnette Austin are appearing for the prosecution.
