Man who “cussed out” aunts placed on bail

Thirty-one-year-old Cheddi Bacchus was on Friday slapped with multiple assault charges and appeared before senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Bacchus denied all the charges. The first charge alleged that on September 19, 2018, at Norton Street, Georgetown, he used threatening language towards businesswoman Agnes Bacchus, who is his aunt. The other charges stated that Cheddi on the same date also used threatening language towards Debra Bacchus and indecent language towards Agnes Bacchus thereby breaching the peace.
He also assaulted Agnes causing actual bodily harm and malicious damage to the said Virtual Complainant’s property.
Prosecutor Sanj Singh made no objections to bail which resulted in Bacchus being released on $80,000 bail for all the charges. The case will continue on September 24.
