Mother charged for killing 3-year-old

The Guyana Police Force through its Public Relations Office said Brenda Ferreira who brutally stabbed her three-year-old son to death on Saturday last was charged with murder and as such, will be arraigned today.
The 26-year-old suspect of Lot 585 15th Street, Foulis, East Coast Demerara (ECD), will make her court appearance at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court as her son’s body is being prepared for burial.

lad’s body revealed that he died as a result of a stab wound to his heart.
The lad of Lot 585 15th Street, Foulis, ECD, was stabbed to death by his 26-year-old pregnant mother on Saturday after she allegedly had a dream that she would die. She told Police that if that was the case, she did not want her favourite child to be left behind.
The Police stated that on Saturday, the woman began pursuing the hapless lad in the yard with a knife in her hand.
A few minutes later, ranks at the Enmore Police Outpost received a report that the child had been stabbed by his mother; and upon arriving at the scene, they found the child lying unconscious in a pool of blood with suspected stab wounds to his neck and back.
He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries about three hours later. His elder brother, who witnessed the stabbing, is expected to receive the necessary counselling. He is presently staying with relatives.
